Game 34: Mavs at Cavs

DALLAS MAVERICKS (25-8) 104, CAVS (8-26) 95
at Quicken Loans Arena
RADIO/TV: WTAM/Fox Sports Ohio

WHAT HAPPENED: The significance of Sunday's game is that the Cavs might be committed to playing the youngsters more the rest of the way.

The worst record in the NBA is sure to follow.

But many fans hope that's the case. I have done little or no work on the NBA draft. Hopefully, there's some major talent on the board when the Cavs make their pick.

Guard Daniel Gibson missed his second consecutive game with a bruised thigh. With center Anderson Varejao (broken bone in his cheek) already out, that was too much to overcome for the Cavs.

The good news is that guard Mo Williams (hip flexor) returned to the lineup after missing two games. However, he had just five points, seven assists and two blocks.

The Cavs are hoping Varejao will be available on Wednesday against Toronto after he is fitted with a mask.

Dallas snapped its three-game losing streak. The Cavs have lost seven in a row and 17 of the last 18 overall.
