Game 59: 76ers at Cavs

PHILADELPHIA 76ers (30-29) 95, CAVS (11-48) 91
at Quicken Loans Arena
RADIO/TV: WTAM/Fox Sports Ohio

WHAT HAPPENED: The Sixers are the hottest team in the Eastern Conference. They've won four in a row to move past the .500 mark. Coach Doug Collins has done a masterful job with this young team.

The Cavs were short-handed, especially in the backcourt. Guard Anthony Parker had a sub-par game and shot 1 of 8 from the field. Daniel Gibson and Manny Harris were ineffective off the bench.

I don't know what's going on with Gibson, but he hasn't played well in almost two weeks. If he continues to falter, he could soon find himself on the bench for long stretches.

Baron Davis passed his physical with the Cavs and the trade went through. However, he was on the inactive list. They probably could have used him. He could make his Cavs debut against the Spurs on Wednesday. He's suffering from a sore left knee.

Forward Luke Harangody and center Semih Erden were also held out of Sunday's game. They'll likely be available to play on Wednesday. Coach Byron Scott wants all of them to go through practice first before getting in a game.

The three newcomers, plus six other young players, will practice today at Cleveland Clinic Courts. The rest of the team will have the day off. The media was asked to stay home.

They'll have a full contact practice on Tuesday to prepare for team with the best record in the league.

Forward Antawn Jamison was knocked out of Sunday's game with a broken left little finger. Don't expect him to play against the Spurs.

His finger was gruesome looking when he came out in the third quarter - pointing sideways. Ewww.
