The Cavaliers waived forward Jason Kapono on Saturday and signed shooting guard Manny Harris for the remainder of the 2011-12 season.

Harris most recently completed a second 10-day contract with the Cavs on March 11. He has appeared in just three games this season.

Kapono was acquired on Thursday, along with forward Luke Walton, the Los Angeles Lakers’ first-round pick this summer and cash in exchange for guard Ramon Sessions and guard/forward Christian Eyenga.

The money acquired from the Lakers was probably enough to pay off what was left on Kapono’s contract (approximately $400,000).
